“Women in Sports ” series

This series is in process: I am a WNBA fan – I began watching in 2022 season and really liked the Connecticut Sun. (I did a few water colors – Natasha Heideman, Alyssa Thomas, Tiffany Hayes). Then my favorite players moved to different teams and I watched more and started going to local games and learned more about the sport. The sculpture series is developing, but began from the 2025 Minnesota Lynx team (that 2025 team was a special group of players) anyway and still figuring how I want to move forward, and I really like the ROUND HEADS – so I think I will go back to that style moving forward.

Studbudz – WNBA all star weekend the Studbudz (Natisha Heideman and Courtney Williams ) rolled on the MainStage of new era in women’s sports.
Jessica Shepard – 2025 Season on Minnesota Lynx. ( She is now on the Dallas Wings) Finally getting her flowers by media this year. We all know your white shoes theory!
2025 was the CIB negotiations which finally got the WNBA decent salaries and women’s health issues addressed.
Alanna Smith – 6′ 4″ forward. Sweet, stylish Australian native. Now on the Dallas Wings. Earned a defensive player of the year and her master degree in psychology.
Kayla McBride – She is 3-point catch and shoot wonder! I started her sculpture, but I wasn’t happy with it. So I will be starting over.

On my list to do: Kayla McBride (the do-over) Natasha Howard, Bridget Carlton, Dijonai Carrington to name a few.
